NSW Government decision on Southern Campus of RNS Hospital

The LHD have announced that the Government will not be selling the land on the Southern Campus. The land will remain fully owned by the Government. Therefore, this appears to be great news. see http://www.nslhd.health.nsw.gov.au/…/Royal-North-Shore-Hosp…
It was also stated that there were no future plans to sell any other land on the hospital campus and also no penalties imposed as a result of the land not being sold.
One rider attached to this announcement is that the government still plan to build a building (that they will pay for) to house the Ministry of Health, Agency for Clinical innovation, Health Infrastructure and serval other government departments (see attached documents) and importantly it will also include Childcare.
With this decision the Master plan advisory committee can now get to work in determining how to provide the other remaining support services on the hospital campus that still haven’t got a home.
On behalf of the community, our patients, family and friends I would like to thank everyone who worked so tirelessly and selflessly over many years on this campaign. Well done !

North Sydney By-Election

Stephen has announced his intention to run as an independent candidate for the Federal seat of North Sydney. He is privileged to be supported by Ted Mack, the former Independent Mayor, State and Federal Member for this seat.

Stephen’s motivation for standing is mainly his concern for the mismanagement of public health policy, particularly the future of the North Shore Hospital. Information on a wide range of policies including the economy, the environment, trade treaties, energy, transport, education, immigration, open government, reform of politicians’ entitlements and constitutional reform, are provided on this website here http://drsruff.wordpress.com/policies.

Onya Stephen Cannot wait to see Turnbull sent running back to the eastern suburbs should he come over the bridge to support the stench of the Zimmerman stitch up and the double dipping of our former entitled and very ordinary former treasurer

Happy to vote for Dr. Ruff. But who are the others? Just a long list of some 13 candidates with no idea who they are or they represent.

After handing out material for Stephen Ruff @ Waverton & Wollstonecraft this week I have quickly discovered: 1. the electorate is angry, both Liberal voters and non-Liberals; 2. they’re angry about much the same things – Hockey’s selfish, hypocritical & costly bailout, & re the party production-line Lib candidate being largely forced upon them; 3. a mood for ‘independence’, again!, is in the air! SUPPORT DR RUFF NOW – & let’s teach them a lesson together!

  1. I love Ted Mack, BUT…..unless I know if you have been supporting Liberals in how you vote, cannot trust a “labour party proxy” disguised as an independent.
Please tell us ?? Sorry but labour is the poison of class envy.

    1. Stephen is definitely not a Labour Party proxy 🙂

    Where are your preferences going?

    1. Hi Judy, Stephen is an independent, and has chosen not to allocate preferences. His political position will depend on the issue at hand, independent on any of the major parties.

    Ruffie
I applaud your stance on more open government.
I have been advocating for years that government contracts should not be commercial in confidence except under very limited defence/security circumstances. Both those who benefit from and those who spend our money should be fully and openly accountable. ALL government contracts should be published and available to all Immediately they are signed.
    Who can argue?
Let me know if you need more help.

To ensure that my vote does not go any further than Dr Ruff I would have to vote Ruff 1 and all other candidates 2. However this is not allowed and I must nominate all 13 candidates by a sequence of numbers. If Dr Ruff is eliminated, this corrupt procedure effectively deprives me of my right to exercise my vote and limit it to the candidate of my choice and no other as my vote then commences to swirl around in the remaining pool and will finish up with a candidate I don’t want! This has been the reason why I’ve not voted in years.

    1. Thanks Aart, I understand your concerns.

So refreshing to receive voting information in the mail, that actually includes ‘information’, and to not have one’s intelligence insulted by the demand to vote a certain way with one’s preferences. Do the liberal party really think their preference ‘guide’ is anything other than, a numbers game without any conviction to beliefs they hold? What on earth did Mr Zimmerman have to do with an upgrade to sporting facilities in Gore Hill? Are they proposing that if the electorate doesn’t vote for him, it would be taken away… To hear from Dr Ruff that he’d “represent all residents on individual issues, and the majority view of the electorate on broad issues” is such common sense, but sadly lacking at the moment. I hold high hopes for this weekend, as most of the people I know in this electorate are intelligent and thoughtful, and Dr Ruff has presented a very strong case for his election, that any intelligent and thoughtful would be on side with. Good luck!

    Gday Stephen,
Thanks for caring about us,clearly the world democractic parties are all having the similiar problems.Narrow self interest combined with the financial party backers are diverting the public good-for their good .The solution maybe to have a party that has blind donations,no lunches ,no dinners ,etc with the party backers, just for starters.
    wishing you well

Is there any chance Dr Ruff can be persuaded to run against Tony Abbott in Warringah? I think there would be a lot of support via a national crowd funding campaign for this.
